Over the past number of weeks, we have been examining who we are as the United Church – where we came from, pivotal moments in our history, how we do mission, and what we believe. We will use all of these as a launching pad for the next hundred years. Our worship theme on Sunday will be “To boldly go”. Within this there will be elements of the United Church 100th anniversary focus: Deep Spirituality, Bold Discipleship, Daring Justice. Our United Church anniversary Sunday coincides with Pentecost – the coming of the Spirit, when the church was set on fire and the energy that was in Jesus got inside the disciples, and the church was born.
