About the event
Gardening for nature - creating habitat for butterflies and pollinators in your yard
Join Jen Baker from the Hamilton Naturalists' Club (HNC) on Monday April 22 (Earth Day) at 7:30 pm at Meadowlands Fellowship CRC as she describes the importance of gardening for nature by planting native trees, shrubs and wildflowers to increase biodiversity and attract butterflies. Jen will describe the steps involved in gardening for butterflies and make native plant suggestions and where they can be purchased. Jen will also describe HNC's Pollinator Paradise Program which is working to create a network of biodiverse gardens to bring nature back to the city and how gardeners can join this network by adding native plants to their garden and then certifying their garden.
